steingarten remixes 4 The final part of Pole´s Steingarten remix series comes in red vinyl with another oustanding remixes from DEADBEAT, GHISLAIN POIRIER and GUDRUN GUT. DJ,producer and longtime ˜scape artist Deadbeat is considered one of Montreal’s foremost innovators with close connection to he Mutek Festival. The last few years have seen him moving ever closer to Dub and Dancehall. His fourth album ”Journeyman’s Annual” is now available on ˜scape (sc46cd/do12inch). Deadbeat moved "sylvenstein" with his sharp beats to the dancehall. Ghislain Poirier went in a simmilar direction and turned "winkelstreben" into a mixture of techno and dancehall: a style that described in his own words as: "cosmopolitan bass and chunky digital dancehall". Ghislain Poirier counts amongst the most distinctive new exponents of Montreal’s thriving young scene. His debut album will be released on Ninja Tunes in november 2007. Like all remixing artists of "steingarten" Gudrun Gut refused to twist Pole’s music out of shape, but highlight, cherish and reflect their essence. But Gudrun Gut is the only artist who adds her own vocals: a recited A-Z of girl’s names. Founding member of seminal Punk/Wave outfits Malaria! and Mania D., Gudrun Gut has been co-presenting her eclectic ‘Ocean Club’ radio show (on ‘Radio Eins’, with Thomas Fehlmann) since 1997.
