steingarten remixes 2 The second part of the Pole "steingarten" Remix series comes as limited orange vinyl 12inch and features remixes by Canadian artists THE MOLE and FRIVOLOUS. Based in Montreal, THE MOLE was named by URB magazine as one of the 'next 100' in 2004. Celebrated live appearances followed at the Mutek festival, Montréal in 2004 and 2007. During the past 4 years he has gained a growing reputation with his releases on Wagon Repair, Philpot, Musique Risquee, and Revolver. 2006 saw 'In my song/Acadian' (Wagon Repair) signed to a Sven Väth mix, and on the label Itiswhatitis the 'Smokin Posties' was released, a collaboration with long time friend Paddy from Cobblestone Jazz. THE MOLE chose "pferd" for his remix work and transported the track into a warm, disco house hymn. After several releases on the Berlin label Karloff Recordings and Düsseldorf´s Background recordings FRIVOLOUS released his highly acclaimed debut album on ~scape in february 07 (sc43). On "midnight black indulgence" he brought moments of pure dance ecstasy together with string interludes and swinging jazz ballads. His open minded and fresh way of approaching the dancefloor is perfectly reflected in his interpretation of Pole´s "Achterbahn".
